Intended use: Lamotrigine Determination Kit is an in vitro diagnostic test for the detection of lamotrigine in human serum and plasma specimens.
Lamotrigine is an anti-epileptic medication, also called an anticonvulsant. Lamotrigine is used alone or with other medications to treat epileptic seizures in adults and children. Lamotrigine is also used to delay mood episodes in adults with bipolar disorder (manic depression).
Common adverse effects are dizziness, ataxia, blurred or double vision, nausea, or vomiting. The serum concentration should be interpreted in the context of the patient's clinical response and may provide useful information in patients showing poor response, noncompliance, or adverse effects, particularly when lamotrigine is coadministered with other anticonvulsant drugs.
