Pepsinogen II CLIA Kit

PRODUCT NAME:

Product Name: Pepsinogen II CLIA Kit (Chemiluminescence Immunoassay) Abbreviation: PG II

INTENDED USE:

Pepsinogen II CLIA Kit (Chemiluminescence Immunoassay) is an in vitro diagnostic test for the quantitative detection of PG-II (Pepsinogen II) in human serum and plasma specimen. This product is intended to be used by laboratory professional workers only. This kit is used for auxiliary diagnosis of atrophic gastritis and other gastrointestinal diseases such as ulcer. Results must be combined with clinical observations, patient history, other laboratory parameters, and epidemiological information. Pepsinogen is the inactive precursor of pepsin in gastric juice. Human pepsinogen can be divided into two types with different biochemical and immunological activity characteristics: pepsinogen I (PG I) and pepsinogen II (PG II). PGI is secreted by the fundic glands, and PG II is secreted by the fundic, cardia, pyloric, and Brunner glands. In the process of fundic gland mucosal atrophy, the principal cells that secrete PG I decrease and the pyloric gland cells increase, resulting in a decrease in the ratio of PG I/PG II. Therefore, the ratio of PG I/PG II can be used as an indication of fundic gland mucosal atrophy. PG I and PG II levels detected by the immunological methods in serum, combined with PG I&PG I/PG II ratio can be used to screen for fundic gland mucosal atrophy.
